TELLING JEWISH PEOPLE
ABOUT JESUS
CHANGED LIVES
When Igal Vender received a call from a prison in Northern Israel, he didn’t recognise the caller.
As Michael told him he needed God’s help, he realised who it was; they had met on the streets three years before, as Igal reports.
Saul was a young boy in Hungary during World War Two and was captured by the Nazis but later released. After the war, having survived the Holocaust in Hungary, his family moved to Australia. Saul had a good career and a happy family life in Australia and, until very recently, clearly acknowledged this as God’s blessing in his life. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse recently…
Lili shared the concern that her faith was very small; she had lots of things to worry about in life and was worried that these issues distracted her from thinking about spiritual things. Turning to the parable of the mustard seed, Rahel explained that God can still do the most amazing things with even the smallest of faith.
Galyna was disappointed to find her contact had moved away when visiting her at home. However, another resident told her if she wanted to speak to someone Jewish there was a woman called Pauline downstairs.
Just before Galyna knocked at her door – Pauline had been reflecting on God and thinking about her soul. She had buried her late husband and, more recently, her sister Bella. She was thinking about her eternal future when there was a knock at the door and there was Galyna!
Simo worked all week and drank heavily all weekend. Igal invited him to the rehab centre his church runs but Simo said he couldn’t come as he had to work to pay his rent and buy alcohol. He was working to fund his addiction.
Simo called Igal, he had lost his job because of his drinking and was living on the streets. He was ready to go to the rehab centre so Igal told him he would need to quit drinking and be open to God's work in his life. Simo said he had no option but to turn to God for help.
